The Makoro 6000L Horizontal Septic Tank is a high-capacity wastewater treatment solution designed for residential developments, commercial properties, institutions, lodges, farms, and multi-dwelling sanitation systems. With a storage capacity of 6000 litres, the tank provides effective primary wastewater treatment by retaining sewage long enough for suspended solids to settle and form sludge before effluent proceeds to the next stage of the treatment process.

Designed to serve applications ranging from approximately 3 to 20 people, the tank measures 3000 mm in length, 1850 mm in diameter, and 2300 mm in overall height. Its horizontal configuration provides excellent underground stability, efficient installation, and high storage capacity while maintaining structural integrity under demanding operating conditions. A 420 mm threaded access opening, fitted with a durable polypropylene lid, allows convenient access for inspection and maintenance, while 110 mm PVC fittings are supplied for simplified installation. The tank is also fully compatible with Makoro septic extensions where additional access height is required.

Manufactured from high-quality polyethylene using 100% virgin material, the Makoro 6000L Horizontal Septic Tank features excellent impact strength, UV protection, an antibacterial inner surface, and a robust wall thickness of 12–15 mm. These features provide outstanding durability, long service life, and dependable performance in demanding underground environments. The single-layer construction is specifically engineered for sewage applications and offers excellent resistance to environmental stress and deformation.

Finished in black to minimise light penetration and support optimal septic system operation, the tank is engineered to withstand harsh Southern African conditions while maintaining watertight performance and structural reliability. Easy handling, straightforward installation, and heavy-duty construction make it an ideal solution for both new sanitation projects and system upgrades. The tank should always be installed in conjunction with an appropriate effluent treatment or soakaway system and inspected periodically to ensure effective wastewater treatment and environmental protection.
