The Makoro 3050L Septic Tank provides a reliable and efficient wastewater treatment solution for larger households, lodges, farms, rural properties, and commercial sanitation systems. With a storage capacity of 3050 litres, the tank is designed to retain wastewater long enough for suspended solids to settle and form sludge, providing effective primary treatment before effluent proceeds to the next stage of the sanitation process.

Designed to accommodate approximately 6–8 people, the Makoro 3050L Septic Tank features a tall vertical configuration that maximises storage capacity while minimising ground footprint. Measuring 2160 mm in overall height, with an effective height of 1960 mm and a diameter of 1550 mm, this design is particularly well suited to installations where available land area is limited. The greater liquid depth also promotes improved solid-liquid separation, allowing sludge to settle more effectively and producing cleaner effluent compared to shallower septic tank designs.

A 420 mm threaded access opening provides convenient access for inspection and maintenance, while completed fittings simplify installation. The tank is fully compatible with Makoro septic extensions, allowing easy adjustment of access height where required. Manufactured from high-quality LLDPE using 100% virgin material, the tank features an antibacterial inner surface, UV protection, excellent impact strength, and consistent wall thicknesses ranging from 10–15 mm. With a total tank weight of 100 kg, the tank delivers exceptional durability and long-term performance in demanding underground applications.

The vertical design offers several installation advantages, including reduced excavation width, lower excavation costs, improved space utilisation, and better wastewater settling performance. It is particularly suitable for urban plots, restricted installation sites, and locations where deeper excavation is possible but surface space is limited. Finished in black to minimise light penetration and optimise septic system performance, the tank is engineered to withstand harsh Southern African conditions while maintaining structural integrity and watertight operation.

The tank should always be installed in conjunction with an appropriate effluent treatment or soakaway system and inspected periodically to ensure effective wastewater treatment and environmental protection.
